Regulatory Statement

Service Offerings
HNP Consulting (the "Company") is committed to providing tailored employment law advice, HR consultancy support, corporate strategy to all types of enterprises across the UK. While the Company itself is not a regulated entity of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (the "SRA"), it does appoint solicitors who each hold a practising certificate and are individually regulated by SRA.
Our legal consultancy model
The Company's status as a legal consultancy business is established and operated under SRA's Standards and Regulations 2019. The purpose of these regulations is to allow a more flexible and responsive regulatory framework and, in doing so, have enabled the provision of legal services within unregulated entities. Our legal consultancy model, therefore, is designed to fuel innovation, enhance competition, and uplift standards. A crucial point to clarify is that although our solicitors are individually SRA-regulated, HNP Consulting is not.
Reserved and unreserved activites
"Reserved legal activities", within the meaning of the Legal Services Act 2007, means any legal work that requires regulation by a legal authority. This includes the right to represent clients in court, conduct litigation, transfer land and property, and administer oaths. "Unreserved legal activities", on the other hand, are aspects of legal work that do not require such regulation and can, therefore, be carried out by unregulated entities. The Company's solicitors do not carry out any reserved activities. Instead, they focus on unreserved legal activities revolving around employment law and HR advice, which includes guidance on employment contracts, employee rights, disciplinary procedures, other HR-related matters, and Employment Tribunal support/representation, offering a comprehensive service to manage the legal aspects of human resource management for our clients.
Significance of our unregulated status
Being an unregulated entity, we are not overburdened with compliance obligations as a traditional law firm might be. For example, as we provide our services on a project and fixed-fee basis in respect of unreserved legal activities, we are not required to publish price and service information under the SRA Transparency Rules, nor are we required to make any contributions to the solicitors' compensation fund and our clients, therefore, will not be able to make any claim under it if should they discover that any money entrusted to their solicitor has been misappropriated. For the avoidance of doubt, the Company does not (nor will it ever) have a client account and, therefore, shall not hold client money as the nature of our work is non-transactional and wholly profit-generating. As such, our lessened regulatory burden means that our overheads are low and we therefore can provide premium legal services at a fraction of the conventional costs as compared to traditional law firms.
Professional Standards
Each solicitor the Company engages is bound by the SRA's Principles and the SRA Code of Conduct (click here for more information). As such, our solicitors are duty-bound to uphold the highest level of professional standards and ethics to ensure that they always act in the best interests of our clients.
